Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 2025
Our commitment
Cosyslabs is committed to making KidsColorWorks accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards so that our printables and tools can be used by as many people as possible.
Measures we take
- Keyboard navigation β the entire site can be navigated using a keyboard alone. Interactive elements have visible focus indicators and a logical tab order.
- Screen reader support β pages use semantic HTML, landmark roles, and descriptive ARIA labels so screen readers can interpret content correctly.
- Colour contrast β text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Reduced motion β animations respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. Users with vestibular disorders or motion sensitivity can use the site without disruptive animations. - Text resizing β the layout adapts when browser text size is increased up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Alternative text β decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes; informative images include descriptive alternative text.
- Form labels β all form inputs have associated visible labels and descriptive error messages.
- Dark mode β a dark colour scheme is available and responds to system preferences, reducing strain for users who prefer lower-brightness interfaces.
Printable content
PDF and image printables are designed with high-contrast ink, clear bold outlines, and adequate white space. They are intended for print use and are not themselves accessible PDFs (i.e. they are not tagged for screen readers). If you require accessible educational content in an alternative format, please contact us.
Known limitations
While we strive to meet WCAG 2.1 AA throughout the site, some areas are still being improved:
- The online coloring studio uses an HTML canvas element which has limited screen reader support. We are working on adding accessible controls.
- Some third-party ad content may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements. We are unable to control third-party ad rendering.
Feedback and contact
If you experience any accessibility barriers on KidsColorWorks, or if you need content in an alternative format, please contact us:
- Email: support.cosyslabs@gmail.com
- Contact form: kidscolorworks.com/contact
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 2 business days and resolve issues as quickly as possible.
Technical approach
KidsColorWorks is built with React 18 and TypeScript, using semantic HTML5 elements, CSS custom properties for theming, and Tailwind CSS for styling. We test keyboard accessibility and use axe DevTools and Lighthouse to audit for accessibility issues during development.
